Donovan and Victoria Volkan Unknown Volkan and Lauren Bishop Nathan and Sarah Selwyn Damion and Jayda Volkan Cade and Sloane Volkan It all began in Paris, France when Dominic and Evelyn Volkan gave birth to three children, Donovan, Marcus, and another boy who shall remained unknown for now. Dominic and Evelyn Volkan raised their sons in a small town outside of Paris, France. It was a muggle town, so the couple kept to themselves, rarely ever associating with anyone in the town. On occasion they would talk to a neighbor or a merchant, but they never let it be known that they were magic folk. When Donvan aged enough to start school, the couple moved from France to be closer to Durmstrang. They sent Donovan off to school while they continued to watch over Marcus and Evita Eventually, Marcus and Evita followed their older brother to Durmstrang where they too received an education, specifically focusing on the Dark Arts. When Donovan Volkan graduated from Durmstrang at the age of seventeen, he moved to Little Hangleton where he met and married a woman named Victoria. He spent most of his time practicing the Dark Arts, learning everything there was to know about the subject. He would experiment with potions in the basement of his home and eventually became a Potions Master. When Donovan reached the age of twenty-one, his wife Victoria gave birth to their first child. They named the child Cade and like his father had done, Donovan began teaching his son the Dark Arts. Victoria gave birth to their second child eight years later. Victoria chose the name Charles, but Donovan wasn't pleased with this name so he shortened his son's name to Chaz. When Cade reached the age of eleven, Donovan sent his son to Hogwarts while he kept a close eye on his youngest boy, Chaz. He tried to teach Chaz everything he knew about the Dark Arts, but his son wasn't as receptive as he had been when he was younger. When Marcus Volkan graduated from Durmstrang at the age of seventeen, he joined his older brother Donovan in Little Hangleton. He too fell in love and married a woman named Eleanor. When Marcus turned nineteen, Eleanor gave birth to their first child. They named the child Damion and just like his father and his brother had done, Marcus began teaching Damion all about the Dark Arts at a very young age. He also began experimenting with potions and became a Potions Master. When his son Damion was born, Marcus met and befriended a man named Nathan and his wife, Sarah. Together, Marcus and Nathan began experimenting with magic. They created a new form of magic they called, Unbranded Magic. Marcus taught his brother Donovan how to use Unbranded Magic after he and Nathan had perfected it. Eleven years after his son Damion was born, Marcus' wife Eleanor gave birth to identical twins, naming them Nikolas and Jesse. When Marcus' oldest son Damion turned eleven, Marcus sent him off to Hogwarts. Damion was already excelling with his wand and like his father, he became a Potions Master. Marcus focued his attention on teaching Nikolas and Jesse the Dark Arts. By the time the twins were five, they were able to cast spells with their wands and they were beginning to learn how to do non-verbal magic. While living in Little Hangleton, Marcus and Donovan met up with their Uncle, Victor. Victor Volkan, was Dominic's brother who had befriended a man named Tom Riddle. Victor introduced his nephews to Tom who by this time was well known as Voldemort, the most dangerous dark wizard among the wizarding community. Marcus and Donovan took an interest in Voldemort's conquest to become immortal and like their Uncle, they too became death eaters. Not only were they death eaters to a man who had become more powerful than anyone in the wizarding community, but they had also become his friend. When Voldemort was prepared to battle at Hogwarts, Nathan and Marcus were experimenting with a spell to create immortality. They put their experiment aside to aid Voldemort in the battle at Hogwarts, along with Marcus' brother Donovan and his Uncle, Victor. When Donovan was killed in the battle, Marcus and Nathan vowed to bring him back, but that had to wait. They were in the midst of an extremely dangerous battle where good had been pitted against evil. This battle came to an end with Voldemort's death. Victor fled the country, while Marcus and Nathan returned to Little Hangleton with Donovan's body. They used Unbranded Magic to revive Donovan and then used him to test the immortality spell they'd been working on. They were delighted to learn that the spell had been successful. Marcus and his brother returned to living a quiet life with their wives until Marcus met a man named Luther Cross. Marcus and Luther were at odds from the moment they met because Luther set out to destroy Marcus' family. He began by banishing Donovan to another realm. Luther killed Donovan's wife Victoria and Nathan's wife Sarah before disappearing. Marcus took Cade and Chaz in and raised them as if they were his own children. After Marcus sent, Chaz, Nikolas, and Jesse to Hogwarts, Luther resurfaced and attacked Marcus, putting an end to his life. Nathan used Unbranded Magic to bring his friend back, but Luther banished Nathan to the same realm he'd sent Donovan to. Marcus went into hiding for a bit upon returning to the living and took an assumed name to avoid being discovered. His wife Eleanor died shortly after this time. At the age of eleven, Nikolas and Jesse joined their cousin Chaz at Hogwarts, but Luther Cross showed up and Chaz convinced his cousins to run away because Luther was trying to kill them, so Nikolas, Jesse, and Chaz ran to Little Hangleton where they hid out. One night while in Little Hangleton, Nikolas, Jesse, and Chaz managed to get into the Hanged Man. They got drunk and left to go to a nearby muggle town where they tortured and killed everyone in the town. After that night, Nikolas met Logan Cross, but he didn't realize that Logan was Luther's son, so they became friends and Logan taught Nikolas two unbranded spells, one that would allow him to alter his appearance, making him look younger or older whenever he wanted and the other would allow him to implant false memories into a person's mind. Nikolas used the age altering spell to make himself and his brother and cousin appear older. While in Little Hangleton, Nikolas met a woman named Skye. He fell in love with her, despite his young age and asked her to marry him, but she turned him down and married another man. He was broken-hearted over this, but he had no time to sulk because Luther Cross showed up again. Wanting to protect his younger brother and cousin, Chaz told Nikolas to run and get help, so Nikolas and Jesse ran to a town north of London where they hid out for a short while. Luther tortured Chaz by implanting horrid visions into his mind, visions of death. He saw the death of his entire family, one by one and he started to fear everyone and everything. Nikolas left Jesse in the town north of London and returned to Hogwarts and applied for a teaching position, lying on his application so he could get the job. He was hired and began teaching Charms. Shortly after Nikolas started teaching at Hogwarts, his father showed up in London and took a job at the school. Nikolas kept up his lies about where he'd been and what he'd been doing, using the memory spell that Logan had taught him. When Cade resurfaced, he was with Luther Cross. Luther learned that Marcus had stored his power in a necklace that his son Nikolas Volkan currently had in his possession, so he wanted Cade to retrieve this necklace. Luther returned to London to kill off the Volkans and to try to get his hands on the necklace that Nikolas had. Cade also returned at this time and father and son were reunited. But Cade wasn't happy to see his father because he was under Luther's control. He managed to get Nikolas' half of the necklace, but he never handed it over to Luther. Marcus tortured Luther to his death and regained his power from the necklace. Nikolas sent word to his cousin Chaz that his father was back in London, so Chaz returned to London, but neither told Marcus that Chaz was his nephew and neither told him about Jesse, who was still hiding out. They insisted that Chaz was Niko's friend from school. Chaz told his cousin Nikolas what Luther had done to him, which put the fear in Nikolas, even though Luther was dead. He and Chaz got into their old routine of partying until Marcus broke up a party one day and realized his son had been lying about a lot of things. Nikolas revealed to his father that he was seventeen instead of twenty-six. He also admitted that he and Chaz had done time in Azkaban, but claimed that Chaz had spent four years there. He admitted that he'd quit school and had run off with Chaz when he was thirteen, but none of this was true. Nikolas had implanted all of these memories into his family's mind, so Marcus had believed his son was giving him an honest confession. The truth didn't come out until much later. After Luther's death, Nikolas and Chaz set off for Riviere and opened a school called Lavaltrie Wizarding School. Niko wanted to prove to his father that he could be responsible, but when he told his father about this, Marcus told him it was irresponsible. Disappointed, Nikolas was still determined to get the school up and running, so with Sloane's help and his cousin Cade's help, he built the school from ground up. Students started arriving one after the other and Nikolas began hiring staff. He and Chaz had heard rumors of a beast roaming the area, but they thought that this was just a myth. While in Canada, Nikolas used the age altering spell again to make himself younger so Logan wouldn't recognize him. But Logan met up with him and cast the Imperius Curse on him before disappearing. Nikolas and Chaz threw a party in the school. Several people showed up and started discussing the beast. When Chaz learned of it, he was convinced that Abryttan was actually Luther and he started drinking profusely to drown his fear. Nikolas joined him in this. Meanwhile, Marcus found Nikolas and Chaz at the school and confronted them. Niko's lies began to unravel. Marcus learned that his son Nikolas was only thirteen and that he'd actually run away from school at the age of eleven. He also learned that Chaz was in fact his nephew and only fourteen. And he discovered that Chaz hadn't finished school either, so Marcus took over as Headmaster and Nikolas and Chaz were forced to attend the school as students. Sloane was hired as Deputy Headmistress and Marcus made his nephew Cade the caretaker. After this, Nikolas spent his time trying to keep his cousin Chaz busy, so they enrolled in several classes and started pulling off practical jokes around the school. Nikolas began to have a problem with one student who he ended up fighting with on more than one occasion until his father finally got involved and punished both of them. After this, Nikolas met a girl on the school grounds, but Prof. Martha Riddle decided to toy with him, so he went to her office and tried to kill her, but Martha ended up killing him instead. Finding out about this, Sloane went to Martha's office angered by what had happened and started to fight with the woman. She eventually left Martha injured and took Nikolas to his father's office where Marcus revived him. Nikolas finally admitted that there was something going on with Chaz. When he told his father everything, Marcus proved to Chaz that Luther was dead and he extracted the nightmares from his mind so he would no longer have them. Nikolas started having trouble with lots of things including girls, and his obessesion to learn Unbranded Magic. He invited Isabella Ronaldi to go to the School Social, but Isabella turned him down, so Nikolas decided to go with his father instead. He ended up fighting with Damion and left for a while, but he came back. After the Social, Nikolas started classes, but he wasn't all that interested in them. One afternoon, he started experimenting in the Common Rooms with Unbranded Magic and accidentally brought his mother, Eleanor Volkan back to life. When his father found out, he was angry, but he accepted his wife just like he had before she died. Over the next several days, Nikolas was struggling with issues and decided to leave Rivere to try to teach himself Unbranded Magic in a more quiet place. He invited Lena Svarri to go along and the two of them ended up getting married. When they came back to Riviere, Nikolas was having another bad day and decided to set off firecrackers in the Great Hall, drawing the attention of several people including his brother Damion and his father. He argued with his father and his brother before leaving again. After that, Niko met up with Luisa Franklin again and the two connected, or at least he thought they had. He realized he'd made a mistake. Having just learned that his wife was pregnant and claiming the child was his, Nikolas was very distressed. He finally decided to do the one thing he had never planned to do. He needed to talk to his father, so he went to the Deadly Forest and requested his father's presence. When his father came, Nikolas spent a long time confessing all of his fears, his concerns, his wrongdoings, and more. Marcus listened to his son and gave him advice when he thought it was needed. He left his son to ponder everything he'd said and returned to the school. Rather than letting anyone know his personal business, Marcus decided to let everyone think that Cade and Chaz were his sons, rather than his nephews. The Volkan Family's life quieted down until Marcus discovered a large beast in the outer parts of Riviere. He knew that Luther had sent the creature to kill off his family, but he was determined to prevent that. With his brother and friend still banished, Marcus was left to protect his entire family. Damion met and married Misty Hunter, but he left Misty after finding out that she was Luther Cross' daughter. He traveled for three years before he met Jayda. He married Jayda and they had a son naming him Cameron. Damion told his wife he was going to get settled in Riviere and left. After getting settled in Riviere, he sent word for his wife to come and join him. Then he learned that Luther was dead. Damion made Jayda a Professor at the school and reconnected with his son, Cameron. One night, while he was walking the grounds, Cade wandered towards a creek and he ran into two students who were apparently fighting. One of them, he recognized as Zariah. He assumed her last name was Cross because he'd been told by Luther that this girl was his daughter, but her brother was there and claimed that Zariah was not Luther's daughter, but his twin sister, though he refused to give any further information. Instead, angered that a member of his family had spent time with Luther Cross, Tobias used Unbranded Magic on Cade and left him bound to a tree, unable to move until his cousin Damion Volkan came and freed him. Damion, wanting to know who the children were, took the girl and went to his father's home in Death Valley where he used Legilimens on her. He realized that she'd been with Luther, but he hadn't learned much more than that. Cade decided to take Tobias to his sister, so he grabbed the boy and apparated to his uncle's home where he met up with his cousin and Zariah in the sitting room. Zariah and Tobias were permitted to leave after that, but Damion couldn't forget what he saw in the girl's mind, though he didn't speak of it. A few weeks later, Nikolas and Chaz met Tobias and Zariah while hanging out at the fireworks. Immediately, they decided that he liked them both and wouldn't mind hanging out with them, but they had no idea that Toby and Zariah were family. They later learned that Zariah was Toby's twin sister, so the group hung out together forming a bond. When Valerie Morgan showed up at Lavaltrie, she joined the group of friends. One night at a bonfire, Chaz Volkan and Zariah Ramakan had gone for a walk on the beach together and Zariah admitted that she had lived with Luther Cross and that he'd tortured her while she was there. Nikolas went into hiding from time to time because he was worried about Logan finding him. He came out of hiding finally and continued his lessons at school, but once again, Logan Cross showed up in Riviere and gave Nikolas specific instructions about what he was to do when Sloane's twins were born. Nikolas, worried that something might happen to his brother Jesse, decided to send for him and bring him to Riviere. He had no intentions of telling his father about Jesse though, because he didn't feel that Jesse was safe yet. After Zariah was born, Luther kidnapped her and took her to his home where Cade was already residing. He told Cade that Zariah was his daughter, but he tortured the child everyday and when she was old enough to understand, Luther told Zariah that her entire family was dead. Toby's father Nathan was banished while Toby was very young. Luther's brother Lukas implanted false memories into the boy's mind and made him believe that he was Toby's father. Though he knew where Zariah was, he let Toby believe that he was doing his best to search for the girl. He taught Toby Unbranded Magic in the hopes of turning this child against the Volkans family, but Toby had a mind of his own and though he learned to successfully use Unbranded Magic, he never used it against his family when he finally met up with them.
